Junior HSE Engineer

We are currently seeking for Junior HSE Engineer, who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to foster a safe and sustainable work environment. The role involves conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and managing environmental protection initiatives. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Health, Safety, and Environmental Management: 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. 
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. 
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). 

Risk Assessment and Management: 

  • Perform risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with operations. 
  • Develop and implement risk control measures and ensure that they are effective and adhered to. 

Training and Awareness: 

  • Design and deliver HSE training programs and workshops for employees to increase awareness and ensure compliance with safety protocols. 
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health, safety, and environmental issues. 

Incident Investigation and Reporting: 

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence. 

Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Stay up-to-date with relevant HSE legislation and industry standards to ensure compliance. 
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and documentation as required. 

Environmental Protection: 

  • Oversee environmental protection initiatives, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability efforts. 
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. 

Emergency Preparedness: 

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. 
  • Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency plans. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate HSE considerations into business processes and project planning. 
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding HSE issues and initiatives. 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices. 
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly desirable. 
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
